How does connotation affect voice in writing?

Ok. ume you were writing about a person who was punctual, careful about clothes and appearance, and always walked with pride. You could then describe this person as Nazi-like in demeanor. But the word Nazi has attached to it so many negative ideas and feelings, that a person reading the sentence would come away with a completely different picture of the character you were trying to describe.
