Is double-majoring a lot of work?

I plan to double major in college, but am hesitant to do so because I'm unsure of how the work load would be. How manageable is it for those of you who are doing so? I also plan to double major at at least a top 20 or higher school (I'm working my of as a high schooler :) ) but I don't want to continue this stressful and work-filled sort of lifestyle into college. Basically, is it manageable to have a good social life and double major? I'm thinking of majoring in a bio/chemical science field and also a business field. Any advice whatsoever helps :)
