Please answer if you've studied Zoology?

I'm in my senior year of high school and really need to start looking into a college. I think I want to major in zoology. I've always wanted to be like Steve Irwin or Jeff Corwin, traveling the globe and finding amazing animals. I live in Kansas City, and I've heard that K-State is one of the best universities in the country for veterinarians, but I don't know about zoology. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a college, from Maine to SoCal, it doesn't matter. Thanks in advance.
